Champion Radwanska Breezes into Tokyo Semis

Defending champions, Agnieszka Radwanska cruised into the semi-finals of the Toray Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo with a 6-2 6-3 victory over Puerto Rican, Monica Puig.

The world number four sent down eight aces in a commanding performance, striking 16 winners against only ten unforced errors.

Puig had outlasted two-time Wimbledon champion, Petra Kvitova in the previous round, but the Olympic gold medallist struggled to live with Radwanska’s consistency on Friday, spaying 30 unforced errors in the one hour 16 minutes encounter.

Radwanska marches on to her fifth semi-final in Tokyo, where she will take on the resurgent Caroline Wozniacki.

Wozniacki continued her march back to the top bracket of the women’s game with a 6-4 6-3 victory over Poland’s Magda Linnette.
