World No. 1 Rafael Nadal beat Bulgarian, Grigor Dimitrov 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 in the semifinals of the China Open to reach his ninth final of the year.
“I’m very happy to be in the final again,” Nadal said.
“Of course, it is a very important achievement for me to continue with the positive feelings after winning the US Open. To be back here and be in the final with that very tough draw I had is a great effort. So I’m very happy.”
The 16 times Grand Slam champion is on course to win his 75th singles title and will face Aussie, Nick Krygios who did not lose a game on his serve as edged German Alexander Zverev 6-3 7-5 to reach the final in Beijing.
The 22-year-old goes into the match against Nadal as one of the few men to beat the Spaniard in 2017, having powered past him in the quarter-finals of the Cincinnati Masters.
Rafael Nadal will be looking to lift the China Open trophy for the first time in 12 years on Sunday.
