Dala Hard Court : Christy Agugbom begins title defence, as youngster Oyinlomo Quadre looks to make her mark

Can Christie Agugbom retain her Dala Hard Court title, or will young gun, Oyinlomo Quadre rise above a packed field to win her maiden title? The Dala Hard Court Tennis Championship is live from Kano from 17-25 November.

Top seed, Agugbom begins her title defence against Omotayo Osewa, with a quarter final meeting with Ronke Akingbade or Aminat Quadre awaiting the winner. Whoever gets through that section will likely face Blessing Samuel in the semi-finals.

Samuel, who narrowly lost 6-2, 6-7, 7-6 to last year’s final, will hope to go one better this time around, but she must first get past Christie Nwakwo in the opening round,

In the other half of the draw, teen sensation, Oyinlomo Quadre starts her campaign against Sarah Adegoke in an mouth-watering first round match-up.

The victor will play either Osariemen Airhunmwunde or Aanu Aiyegbusi- an intriguing match-up which pits NCC Tennis Cup teammates against each other. Airhunmwunde and Aiyegbusi both play for Team Ndoma Egba- each will definitely be keen to get claim individual bragging rights over the other.

The Dala Hard Court Tennis Championship brings together the very best tennis players in the country, and runs till Saturday, 24 November.
