Nigeria’s Oyinlomo Quadre continued her relentless march up the ITF ladder with a comprehensive 6-3 6-3 victory over France’s Marion Karine Job in the final of the ITF West African U-18 Circuit in Lome, Togo.
The 13-year-old thus completes a clean sweep of the West African swing, having won titles in Cotonou and Lome, before her latest triumph in the Togolese capital.
The 15-year-old Job had eliminated two other Nigerians on her way to the title match- Venus Ubiebi in the second round and Angel McLeod in the quarter finals- but the French teenager was no match for Quadre, who gained some sort of revenge for her compatriots.
Quadre was a class above the rest of the field in the 3-week tour, winning all 14 matches she contested, remarkably, without dropping a set.
Her earlier successes in Cotonou and Lome had seen her surge to 579 in the world junior rankings, and she is guaranteed to rise even higher next week when the rankings are updated.
