Team Oluyole received a 7-0 drubbing when they hosted Team Kalotari at the Adamasingba Stadium, Ibadan.
Team Kalotari came into match on the back of a 4-3 defeat at the hands of Team Muller, while Team Oluyole are yet to record a single win in the league so far, which has left them at the bottom of the Blue Group log with 0 points.
The first match of the Men’s Singles saw Team Oluyole’s Ganiyu Salami take on Emmanuel Sunday of Team Kalotari. Salami quickly took the first set 6-4, but lost composure after that to go down 3-6 in the 2nd set. In third set, he couldn’t withstand Emmanuel’s firepower as he was thrashed 6-0.
In the second match, Christian Paul of Team Kalotari hammered Oluyole’s Adewale Samson 6-3, 6-2, while Kolatari’s Blessing Samuel had very little resistance from Colleen Orji whom she thrashed 6-2, 6-2 in the Ladies Singles.
In the Men’s Doubles, Team Kolatari’s pair of Ikechukwu Iloputa and Emmanuel Sunday beat the duo of Ganiyu Salami and Kunle Bamidele 6-3, 6-4 to give their team a 4-0 lead at the end of the day.
A change of players by Team Oluyole on the second day made no difference as Ismail Adeshina fell to a 6-2, 6-3 defeat at the hands of Kalotari’s Christian Paul in the 1st Reverse Singles, while Emmanuel Sunday continued the rout as he pummelled Wassiu Ibrahim 6-1, 6-2 in the 2nd Reverse Singles.
In the Mixed Doubles, Blessing Samuel teamed up with Christian Paul to inflict maximum damage on the home team as they beat Colleen Orji and Adewale Samson 6-2, 6-1.
The victory lifts Team Kalotari into 2nd position on the Blue Group standings.
