Sabine ‘Boom Boom’ Lisicki

Serena Williams is widely lauded as the greatest server in the women’s game, and so you would be forgiven for thinking she holds the record for the fastest serve ever recorded.

Not quite. That record belongs to Germany’s Sabine Lisicki.

Boom boom sent down a 131mph rocket at the 2014 Stanford Classic to eclipse the Williams sisters in that department.

Venus William’s 129 mph effort at the 2007 US Open is only good enough for second place, while Serena is down at number three with her personal best 128.6 mph strike, recorded at the 2013 Australian Open.
