Daniil Medvedev to beat Fernando Verdasco at 1.26 on Wakabet, ATP Rotterdam
Medvedev has been playing impressively since the start of the season. He’s won 12 out of 14 matches he’s played in and must be brimming with confidence. I expect him to bag the win here against Verdasco, who hasn’t really done much for himself this year.
Jo-Wilfred Tsonga to beat Tallon Griekspoor in straights sets at 1.35 on Wakabet, ATP Rotterdam
Tsonga is on the back of a title triumph at the Montpellier Open and has kept up the momentum in Rotterdam. Given the gulf of experience between both men, the powerful Frenchman should have just enough to dismiss the Dutch outsider, who mainly struts his stuff on the Challenger Tour.
Kei Nishikori to beat Ernests Gulbis at 1.24 on Wakabet, ATP Rotterdam
Aside Nishikori being in good form this season, the Japanese holds a 2-0 lead in career meetings against Gulbis. He should make that 3-0 at the end of the day.
Marton Fucsovics to beat Nikoloz Basilashvili at 1.65 on Wakabet, ATP Rotterdam
Marton Fucsovics has taken his Sofia Open form, where he reached the final, into the Rotterdam Open and I like his chances here. He sealed a comfortable straight sets win against the enigmatic Martin Klizan in the opening round, while Basilashvili wasn’t convincing enough in his win against the unseeded Hyeon Chung.
This could go the distance, but I expect Fucsovics to come through in the end.
Elina Svitolina to beat Karolina Muchova at 1.20 on Wakabet, WTA Qatar Open
4th seed, Svitolina should come away with the win against the 132nd-ranked Muchova, who until this event in Qatar, had not won a single main draws match on the WTA Tour this season.
Simona Halep to beat Julia Goerges at 1.30 on Wakabet, WTA Qatar Open
Halep is playing great at the moment. The Romanian recently helped her country qualify for the semifinals of the Fed Cup and was very impressive in her first round match at this event against Lesia Tsurenko. She should be too strong for Goerges, a player she leads 2-1 in career encounters.
