Today’s Picks: Monday’s top betting tips from the Paris Masters

Opening round action gets underway at the Rolex Paris Masters in Paris and we have selected the top bet tips from the day’s matches.

Richard Gasquet to beat Denis Shapovalov at 1.56 on Wakabet, ATP Paris Masters, R1

Frenchman Richard Gasquet and Denis Shapovalov will lock horns in the first round of the Paris Masters today and I am banking on Gasquet to come out on top.

Shapovalov has endured a spell of poor form lately, suffering early exits in three tourneys leading up to the Paris Masters. Gasquet, meanwhile, has been in good form, reaching the semis of two of his last three tournaments. Aside being on the back of a good run at the European Open which would provide enough boost in confidence, Gasquet will have the crowd behind him as he’s playing in his home country.

This will be a difficult opening match for Shapovalov and I don’t see him turning things around now.

Karen Khachanov to beat Filip Krajinovic at 1.31 on Wakabet, ATP Paris Masters, R1

Russia’s Karen Khachanov and Filip Krajinovic of Serbia will face off in the first round in Paris and I like Khachanov’s chances here.

The Russian sensation has had a far better season than Krajinovic and is unarguably the player in better form. Prior to his run to the Round of 16 in Vienna, the 22-year-old made a title-winning run at the Kremlin Cup in Russia. Krajinovic, on the other hand, hasn’t won more than two matches in a tournament since the Dubai Championships seven months ago.

Also, Khachanov is 2-0 in career meetings against the Serb, with the latest meeting being at the Canadian Masters where he secured victory in straight sets.

That’s enough! 1.31 for a Khachanov’s win is good.

Nikoloz Basilashvili to beat John Millman at 1.47 on Wakabet

Nikoloz Basilashvili will take on John Millman in the opening round in Paris and I see nothing other than a victory for the 26-year-old Georgian.

Basilashvili has been playing well lately, and reached the final of the China Open earlier this month where he beat the top seed, Juan Martin del Potro to claim the title.

Meanwhile, Millman, since his US Open upset of Roger Federer, has been meh. The Australian has won just a single match in his last three tournaments.

Basilashvili will be too good for Millman, he’s in better form and coupled with his aggressive baseline game, this is going to be all trouble for Millman.

Joao Sousa to beat Marco Cecchinato at 1.36 on Wakabet

Portugal’s Sousa will square off against Marco Cecchinato for a place in the second round in Paris.

Sousa will fancy his chances against Cecchinato as the Italian has an absolutely terrible record on hard courts. The Italian does next to nothing on this surface and it is going to be all the more difficult against Sousa.

Sousa to win at 1.36 is quite generous.

Roberto Bautista-Agut to beat Steve Johnson at 1.32 on Wakabet

1.32 for a win for Spain’s Bautista-Agut is an excellent pick. Aside Steve Johnson being on a four-match losing streak, dating back to the US Open in August, the American has lost in all 5 matches he’s played against Bautista-Agut.

Bautista-Agut, who has made the semifinals and quarterfinals of two of his last four tournaments, has always been too solid for the American and given Johnson’s poor run of form, I don’t see any other outcome.

Damir Dzumhur to beat Peter Gojowczyk at 2.07 on Wakabet

Bosnia’s Damir Dzumhur will look to get past Peter Gojowczyk when they meet in the opening round in Paris, and I’m certain he would.

Dzumhur won the only previous between the two back in 2016 in Vienna and aside that, should be too consistent for the 61st-ranked German, who came in through the qualifying rounds.
