Hostilities heat up in Doha and Brisbane as players look to secure semifinal berth. I’ve sifted the matches for the day and we have the top bet tips.
Stan Wawrinka to beat Roberto Bautista-Agut at 1.60 on Wakabet, ATP, Qatar Open
Wawrinka continues to build on his new-found momentum this season. The Burly Swiss has yet to drop a set so far in Doha and has been playing well. He should be too solid for Bautista-Agut, who hasn’t really had a tough test so far.
Wawrinka also holds a head-to-head 1-0 lead over the Spaniard. I fancy him extending that today. 1.60 for the win is just great!
Novak Djokovic to beat Nikoloz Basilashvili in straight sets at 1.26 on Wakabet, ATP, Qatar Open
Djokovic faced a stern test in the second round against Marton Fucsovics, and I think that would make him more cautious and in turn ruthless this time.
Only meeting between these two came at the Italian Open in May last year when Djokovic was struggling with poor form, yet he went past the Georgian in straight sets. Think of what he’d do now that he’s playing at the peak of his powers.
It should be a routine victory for the Serb.
Grigor Dimitrov vs Kei Nishikori (Over 22.5 games at 1.79 on Wakabet) ATP, Brisbane International
This is a repeat of the 2017 final, which Dimitov won in three sets.
Both men have had their way quite well in Brisbane so far, moving into the quarterfinals without the loss of a set. They have met five times in the past, and while Nishikori holds a 4-1 lead, all matches, bar their first encounter in 2013, have been tightly-contested.
This one shouldn’t be an exception and with 1.79 for over 22.5 games on the table, I’m picking it. You should, too.
