Borna Coric to beat Daniil Medvedev at 1.84 on Wakabet, ATP Paris Masters
Borna Coric and Daniil Medvedev will face off in the second round of the Paris Masters today and Coric should get the win here.
While Medvedev has been playing well lately, Croatia’s Coric has had the season of his life. The Croat also leads the head-to-head against Medvedev 3-1.
A win for the 21-year-old at 1.84 is well worth it.
Fabio Fognini to beat Marton Fucsovics at 1.90 on Wakabet, ATP Paris Masters
At 1.90, Fabio Fognini to beat Marton Fucsovics is an option worth going for.
Italy’s Fognini has had a great season. Lately, the Italian has made the finals and semifinals of three of his previous four tournaments. Fucsovics, on the other hand, has been playing quite well, but not as good as Fognini. Both men have split the two previous meetings between them, but I expect Fognini to take the lead with this one.
Kevin Anderson to beat Nikoloz Basilashvili at 1.46 on Wakabet, ATP Paris Masters
South Africa’s Kevin Anderson and Basilashvili meet in the second round of the Paris Masters, a week after they locked horns in Vienna and just like in Vienna, I like Anderson’s chances here.
The seventh-seeded South African is on the back of a title-winning run in Vienna and looks to be in very good form at the moment. Basilashvili, too, has had his own good moments lately, but I don’t see him upsetting the big South African.
Anderson’s big serve can dislodge just about anyone, and that should serve as a potent weapon today; coupled with his present form, this shouldn’t be a problem.
John Isner to beat Mikhail Kukushkin at 1.36 on Wakabet, ATP Paris Masters
John Isner and Mikhail Kukushkin will square off in the second round of the Paris Masters today and I’m going with Isner for the win.
While Kukushkin has been in fine form, Isner’s incredible serve will do the damage here. The American boasts a missile of a serve and that should cause problems for Kukushkin. Isner also finished as a finalist at this event in 2016, so he’s no stranger to winning here.
Both men have played each other thrice in the past, with Isner winning all three matches. Do not bet against him.
Grigor Dimitrov to beat Roberto Bautista-Agut at 2.01 on Wakabet, ATP Paris Masters
2.01 is incredibly high to not jump on. Yes, quite risky given Dimitrov’s shaky form, but this is a former world number three, who can very well turn things around at any given time. Dimitrov also holds a 3-2 lead over Bautista-Agut in career meetings. Though slender, but he certainly knows how to beat the Spaniard.
Rafael Nadal vs Fernando Verdasco (Over 22.5 games at 1.96 on Wakabet), ATP Paris Masters
This is all-Spanish second round encounter. Nadal has just returned from an injury he sustained at the US Open and will be playing in his first competitive match, which spells a bit of rustiness. Verdasco can prove to be a very dangerous opponent with his potent lefty forehand, which Nadal also boasts!
This might not be an easy match for Nadal- this is his least favourite surface and it’s against a dangerous opponent. Close contest! Should be decided in over 22.5 games.
Roger Federer vs Milos Raonic (Over 23.5 games at 1.85), ATP Paris Masters
Roger Federer returns to the Paris Masters after two years and will face Canada’s Milos Raonic in his opening match. Even though, the great Swiss picked up the Swiss Indoors title last week, he wasn’t close to his best throughout the tourney.
Raonic could cause all sorts of problems for Federer with his serve. The Canadian is one of the biggest serves in the sport and if he serves as well as he can, he can cause an upset. However, with Federer being Federer, I expect this to go the distance.
1.85 for over 23.5 games is a great pick!
Gilles Simon to beat Dominic Thiem at 2.24 on Wakabet, ATP Paris Masters
2.24 for a Simon victory is too tempting! All previous matches between them have been close even though Thiem have prevailed in most of them.
This isn’t Thiem’s favourite surface and better for Simon is that the crowd will be solidly behind him as he is playing in his home country. Extra motivation! Big upset call here, but at 2.24? Worth the risk!
Shuai Zhang to beat Garbine Muguruza at 2.48 on Wakabet, WTA Elite Trophy, Camellia Group
Another upset pick. But then 2.48 is too high to ignore, you know.
Muguruza only holds a slender 2-1 lead over Zhang in career meetings. Both women have been in fine form lately. I am banking on Zhang to pull off the upset here. Risky, but worth it!
