Oyinlomo Quadre, 15, put up a clinical display to beat Cameroon’s Anna Lorie Toumbou Lemongo 6-4, 6-2 and reach the final of the U-18 ITF Junior Circuit in Lome, Togo.
It’s Quadre’s second consecutive victory over the Cameroonian, having drubbed her 6-1, 6-2 in the quarterfinals of the Lifetime Athletic Open in Ghana a fortnight ago.
The 15-year-old will take on third seed, Divine Nweke of Denmark in Saturday’s final. Nweke defeated India’s Bhagia Gauri 7-6, 6-1 and has yet to drop a set all week in Lome.
Meanwhile, Quadre, having got the better of Lemongo in the singles semis, continued her excellent partnership with the Cameroonian in the doubles event as the pair defeated Carmine Becoude and Divine Nweke 7-5, 6-2 to clinch the doubles title.
Quadre and Lemongo had to fend off a stiff challenge from Becoude and Nweke in the first set and then took control of the match in the second to cruise to victory.
