Roger Federer vs Philipp Kohlschreiber

Roger Federer will take on Philipp in the 4th round of the US Open.

These two have met 11 times in the past, with the Swiss downing the world no. 37 in all 11 meetings, including a third round win at Flushing Meadows in 2015.

Kohischereiber, 33, is on a good run of form, having beaten Tim Sonyczek, Santiago Giraldo and John Millman in straight sets.

Federer, meanwhile, has had it tough against Frances Tiafoe and Mikhail Youzhny before stepping up his game to defeat Feliciano Lopez.

Federer has said that he’s well aware of the German’s game but he’s failed to see him in action during the tournament.

Rafael Nadal will face Alexandr Dolgopolov who is a dangerous opponent at the moment. The Ukrainian is determined to prove his legitimacy on court as he has been involved in several testy exchanges with reporters over his possible involvement in gambling.

These two have met 8 times before, with Nadal edging him in 6 meetings.

Nadal has said that he’ll need to play deep in the court in order to keep Dolgopolov from putting his shot-making show. Nadal says Dolpogolov can do anything with the ball; maybe too many things.
He’s also said that he’s going to work on his forehand ahead of this match because he’s going to need it.

In the other fixture, Argentina’s Juan Martin Del Potro will battle Dominic Thiem in their US Open last 16 clash.

The Argentine eased past Roberto Bautista Agut with a 6-3, 6-3, 6-4 victory and is surely in good form.

Thiem beat Adrian Mannarino in straight sets to secure a 7-5, 6-3, 6-4 win. Thiem now going to face an opponent who he has never beaten and who dumped him out in New York just a year ago.
