Venus Williams and Carla Suarez Navarro are set to renew hostilities as they face each other at the fourth round of the US Open. For Venus and Carla, this will be their 8th career meeting.
Venus leads the head-to-head 4-3, with the most recent victory at the 2016 Wimbledon, a match Venus won in straight sets. Suarez Navarro’s last win over Venus came in the 2015 Miami Masters.
This is an interesting match-up as there is a clear constrast in their styles; the firepower of Venus up against the skill and consistency of Carla Suarez Navarro.
Who will edge ahead with a win and move on to the second week?
This match is live from New York today, Sunday, at 19:30.
In the other match, Maria Sharapova faces last year’s quarter finalist Anastasija Sevastova in a somewhat tricky fourth round clash.

Sharapova is coming off a straight set win over Sofia Kenin, while Sevastova is yet to drop a set in the tournament so far.
Sharapova has revealed she will be well-prepared for the fight.
“She [Sevastova] has had a great year. A big game. . . Serves well. . . Yeah, look, I’ll get back on the practice court tomorrow and get ready for that one,” Sharapova said after her win on Friday.
This match will be live from New York at 18:00.
Furthermore, Spanish third seed, Garbine Muguruza will face two-time Wimbledon champion Kvitova in the fourth round.
