Champion Radwanska Breezes into Tokyo Semis

Defending champions, Agnieszka Radwanska cruised into the semi-finals of the Toray Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo with a 6-2 6-3 victory over Puerto Rican, Monica Puig.


The world number four sent down eight aces in a commanding performance, striking 16 winners against only ten unforced errors.

Puig had outlasted two-time Wimbledon champion, Petra Kvitova in the previous round, but the Olympic gold medallist┬ástruggled to live with Radwanska’s consistency on Friday, spaying 30 unforced errors in the one hour 16 minutes encounter.

Radwanska marches on to her fifth semi-final in Tokyo, where she will take on the resurgent Caroline Wozniacki.

Wozniacki continued her march┬áback to the top bracket of the women’s game with a 6-4 6-3 victory over Poland’s Magda Linnette.
