World number two, Andy Murray will take on former US Open champion, Juan Martin del Potro in Friday’s opening rubber as defending champions, Great Britain take on Argentina in the Davis Cup semi-final in Glasgow.
Both players recently met at the Olympic final, with Murray winning a tight contest in four sets.
World number 64, Del Potro is quickly finding his best form after an extended injury lay-off. His run to the Olympic final included victories over Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal; and he backed up that effort with a quarter final finish at the US Open.
Following that blockbuster opening rubber will be Kyle Edmund against Argentinean number one, Guido Pella, while Murray returns on Saturday to team up with brother, Jamie in Saturday’s doubles rubber against Leonardo Mayer and Federico Delbonis.
Team captains can however change their nominations up to an hour before the start of play.
The other semi-final sees Croatia host France in Zadar.
