A new week is upon us; the need to make some more money is never-ending. So, while we are getting thrilled with actions from the green clay court event in Charleston to the outdoor hard courts in Monterrey, Mexico, we should also do well to fatten our purses.
Here are our top three tips for today:
Aside from the fact that Caroline Garcia leads the head-to-head 3-1 against Lepchenko, the Frenchwoman has made some notable splashes on the WTA this year. A fairly good showing in Doha and Dubai, coupled with a run to the Round of 16 in Indian Wells, the 7th ranked Garcia is having a better year than the 69th ranked Uzbek, who’s only been past the first round a few times this season. I’m backing Garcia to come out on top in this one and a win at 1.45 on Nairabet is a good pick.
Ashleigh Barty to beat Sofia Kenin at 1.40 on Nairabet, WTA Charleston Open, Round of 64
A first time encounter between the two players and both will be eager to notch a first win. However, I fancy Barty to come up with the goods and move to the next round. America’s Kenin doesn’t have the needed firepower to keep the 21-year-old Australian down. 1.40 for Barty to triumph is quite generous.
Anna Blinkova vs Rebecca Peterson (Over 20.5 at 1.80 on Nairabet), WTA Monterrey Open, Round of 32
Russia’s Blinkova and Sweden’s Peterson have had their fair share of battles on the WTA Tour, although inexperience has been their major undoing. The two fledglings are set to square off for the first time in Mexico and I’m backing this to be a closely fought match. 1.80 on Nairabetfor over 20.5 games is another good pick.
